You are watching TB Season 1 Episode 8
Every second someone in the world dies from TB. A new treatment regime called DOTS is reducing mortality rates; however there has been no new class of TB drugs since the 1950s so patients still have to take a high number of drugs for a long period of time. There are also new anxieties posed by multi-drug resistant TB and the synergy between HIV and TB – both could result in a TB explosion.
