Swimming, washing, fishing: everyday activities which put people at risk of catching Bilharzia, or Schistosomiasis. Bodies of water infected with the eggs of the schistosome worm are found across sub-Saharan Africa, as well as in east Asia. The disease, if left untreated, can eventually cause death. Kill or Cure visits Uganda, the first country in the region to benefit from a 30 million dollar programme to control the disease.
