The number one mosquito transmitted disease is not malaria. It’s Dengue Fever and the hunt is on for a vaccine. But it’s complicated. The disease is caused by four flaviviruses, and any effective vaccine has to provide protection against all four viruses. But the viruses interfere with each other; so getting a vaccine that successfully blends all four together is a real challenge.
